Chirine El Ansary grew up between Egypt and France. Chirine brings a physical approach to storytelling and a deep interest in how words and movements can merge to create atmospheres, generate emotions, and convey precise images. Starting in 1995 in the old city of Cairo, she has performed in the streets of Damascus, Aleppo, Sanaa, Nairobi, Zanzibar, Johannesburg, Rome, Naples, Rotterdam, Paris, Oslo, Shiraz, Warsaw, Constantine, Beirut, and London. She has also performed in prisons, Palestinian refugee camps, remote mountain villages, train stations, and forests.
