The County Clerk is an administrative role with two principal responsibilities — to maintain the official records of the county and to oversee elections. The Clerk’s office records the official records of births, marriages, deaths, wills, property deeds, mortgages. The Clerk’s office is also responsible for maintaining the receipt and expenditure records of the County Commission. The Clerk’s office maintains voter registration records and is responsible for the integrity and smooth running of the election process for federal, state and county-wide elections. The County Clerk serves for a six year term.
