Anyone — young or old — is welcome to decorate a bear to be included in our 2022 online gallery. The gift card drawing is open only to individuals 18 years or older. Children may submit a bear entry with parent/guardian permission (please provide parent/guardian contact information for the drawing).

How to Participate

1. Color or decorate your bear

Download the 2022 bear outline drawing (click here) or use the outline drawing in the December 2022 print edition of The Observer. Crayons, colored pencil, paint, yarn, buttons — use your imagination to create your own personal bear. Don’t forget to give your bear a name too!

2. Share your bear by December 20th, 2022

If you’d like participate in the gift card drawing (or just want your bear to be included in our online bear gallery), you can drop off your artwork in the lobbies at any of the Jefferson Security Banks in Jefferson County — 873 East Washington St. in Charles Town, 105 East Washington St. in downtown Shepherdstown, or 7994 Martinsburg Pike just outside of Shepherdstown. You can also upload a picture of your creation via this website (see below).

Deadline for the gift card drawing is December 20, 2022. Please include a name and email/phone number at the bottom of your drawing so Jefferson Security Bank can contact you if you win (if entering a child’s artwork, please provide the name and contact information for the parent/guardian).
