WVDOH Planning Roundabout For Middleway Intersection

According to documents obtained from the West Virginia Division of Highways, the state is planning to build a roundabout at the intersection of Leetown Road and Middleway Pike. The construction budgeted, included in plans for fiscal year 2026, is $1.4 million. The sketch above is a preliminary design which is still being reviewed.

Even with improvements to the Leetown Road and Middleway Pike intersection, turning from Grace Street onto Queen Street (below, looking left and right from the stop sign) will remain difficult, due to the narrow roadways and restricted sight lines.

The Observer is waiting on the Division of Highways to respond to a request for additional information about this project.
