Ray Smock.

The 17th annual Tom E. Moses Memorial Lecture on the United States Constitution will be held on Thursday, September 16 at 7:30 pm. The 2021 lecture will be presented by Dr. Ray Smock, former Historian of the US House of Representatives and currently the interim director of the Byrd Center. Dr. Smock’s topic will be “Re-Energizing the American Experiment” and he will will explore ideas to re-energize government, re-think our historical narratives about political parties, Constitutional history, and the concept of American greatness. He will also offer his perspective — based on truths long known, but never fully realized — that no American can truly be free until all are free.

Location: Auditorium of the Byrd Center on the Shepherd University campus (213 N King St., Shepherdstown WV). Parking available on the street and in the university parking lot at High & Princess Streets.

The event will also be available via Zoom (see registration link below).

Visit the Byrd Center website for more information and to register for the lecture.
